Professional Experience
Christopher McCarthy has extensive experience developing communications strategies across a variety of media, including Web, video, print and presentations. As a communications consultant, Chris uses his management skills to help business owners enhance the effectiveness of their public-facing messages.
As a vice president and senior communications manager at American Funds, Chris oversaw the development of a multi-faceted communications program that achieved desired results and conveyed the firm's value proposition to thousands of stakeholders. He also directed the design and development of on-brand messages, creative treatments, sales collateral and training materials to promote the firm's programs and services to internal and external audiences.
Prior to joining American Funds, Chris worked as a presentation
consultant for Capital Research and Management Company and partnered
with subject matter experts and senior managers on communication
strategy implementation.
Chris started his career at the Center for Biomedical Communication creating communications that maximized the information exchange between a diverse community of clinicians, patients, researchers, students and philanthropic donors bringing these constituencies together to move projects forward at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.
Chris graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
